Slovakian side MFK Zemplín Michalovce are closing in on a permanent deal for a Liverpool midfielder according to reports.
Liverpool’s transfer business is showing no sign of slowing, with the club reportedly closing in on two further deals as the summer window enters a busy phase.
Forest Green Rovers said to be lining up a move for Liverpool midfielder Kyle Kelly on loan as clubs further down the pyramid continue to monitor Anfield’s surplus talent.

Dominik Szoboszlai signed a fresh contract until 2031, with his agent stating it’s a clear indication the Hungarian is staying at Anfield amid Real Madrid speculation.
Away from the headline names, Liverpool’s academy conveyor belt continues to see fringe players move on for fresh starts, and the latest is midfielder Tommy Pilling, who is set to complete a permanent transfer to Slovakian side MFK Zemplín Michalovce according to the Liverpool Echo.
Pilling, 21, joined Liverpool’s academy at just five years old and has been a mainstay of the club’s youth ranks ever since, captaining the U18s and progressing through to the U21s, where he showed his versatility playing across midfield and even up front.
He trained regularly with Slot’s first-team squad and was named on the bench for the League Cup tie against Southampton last September, but senior opportunities never materialised.
The move to Michalovce continues a clear pattern for the Slovakian club, who have built something of an English core over the past 18 months by targeting former academy players and National League talent.
The squad already includes Kai Brosnon from Hemel Hempstead, Ben Cotterel (also of Hemel Hempstead, formerly of Arsenal) and Kido Taylor-Hart, who arrived from Giannina having previously been on Arsenal’s books.
Michalovce also brought in Jeremy Sivu from Sutton back in January 2025.
Founded in 1912, MFK Zemplín Michalovce play their home games at the 4,440-capacity Mestský futbalový Stadion and have competed in Slovakia’s top flight, the Niké Liga, since winning promotion in 2015.
For Pilling, it’s a fresh chance to kickstart his senior career after over a decade in Liverpool’s system.
