Mohamed Salah has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer option for Chelsea after becoming a free agent following his departure from Liverpool, with Spanish outlet Fichajes claiming the Egyptian international would be open to a sensational return to Stamford Bridge.
Salah, who enjoyed one of the greatest Premier League careers during his eight seasons at Liverpool, is now weighing up his next move after bringing his time at Anfield to an end. While clubs from Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer and Turkey have all been linked with the 34-year-old, the latest reports suggest the winger would be willing to remain in England if Chelsea make an approach.

While Salah remains an exceptional footballer, it is understandable to question whether committing major wages to an ageing superstar is the best use of resources when Chelsea are trying to establish a new era.
