**Liverpool have completed the signing of Colombian teenager Samuel Martinez.**
Martinez will move to Merseyside next summer after turning 18 in April after a deal worth around £750,000 was agreed with current club Atletico Nacional.
Anfield chiefs saw off competition from several European rivals including Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund to land the highly-rated midfielder.
The Reds struck a five-year contract with Martinez while Medellin-based Atletico will receive a percentage of any future sales involving the player.
He already helped Colombia win the South American Under-17 Championship in April, taking on a starring role in their route to the final.
Martinez produced an assist in both the semi-final against reigning holders Brazil and in the showpiece itself against Argentina to claim the title.
The 17-year-old is expected to feature for his country at the U17 World Cup later this year with Liverpool set to take a hands-on role in his development.
