Fabinho spent five seasons at Liverpool, winning every major trophy available, including the Premier League and Champions League.
Earlier this month, former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho fuelled speculation over a return to European football after hinting he would welcome a reunion with two of his former Reds teammates at Real Madrid.
The 32-year-old left Anfield in 2023 to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad in a deal worth a reported £40m. He has enjoyed success in Saudi Arabia, winning a league and cup double during the 2024-25 season, but is approaching the end of his contract.

Following Brazil’s World Cup last-16 defeat to Norway, Fabinho travelled to Madrid to spend time with friends and family. While in the Spanish capital, he was asked by El Chiringuito TV about his future and plans for next season.
Fabinho said: “My contract with Al-Ittihad is coming to an end, but I’m coming to Madrid because I have family here and we’ll be staying here for a while.
“When the World Cup ended, I wasn’t really sure what to do or where to go, but we decided to come here to be close to our family here in Spain.
“And it’s really nice here, too, so we’ll stay here for a little while.” He added: “Man, Real Madrid. Who wouldn’t want to play for Madrid? It’s the biggest team in the world.
“But as for my situation, as I told you, I have time to think about it now. I’m going to talk to my agents and see what happens.
“Right now I don’t have anything lined up so there’s not much point in talking about teams or team names, but it’s a league I’d generally like to come and play in.”
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Fabinho is still expected to leave Al-Ittihad despite reports suggesting he could sign a new contract.
Jacobs posted on X: “Understand Fabinho is still leaving Al-Ittihad despite suggestions of a new deal. Ittihad are focused on younger profiles.”
Fabinho spent five seasons at Liverpool, winning every major trophy available, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. He made 219 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
