Liverpool had four players clock over 5,000 minutes for club and country throughout the 2025/26 season, but which Reds ranked in the top 10?
Between Liverpool’s turbulent campaign and international demands, including the World Cup, there was no shortage of minutes accumulated throughout the squad.
With four competitions on the agenda in Arne Slot‘s last season in charge, the Reds played 57 games across nine months.
Further international friendlies, qualifiers and World Cup matches saw workload accumulate for the majority of the squad, with Alexis Mac Allister finishing with 71 outings in all competitions.
There are some ridiculous numbers in Liverpool’s top 10 for minutes played in 2025/26, which you can see below.

Unsurprisingly, only Virgil van Dijk eclipsed the 6,000-minute mark, the highest single-season total of his career. The 35-year-old played a staggering 6,141 minutes across 69 appearances.
As per Transfermarkt, no player in world football, for club and country, played more than the Dutchman.
If that is not a sign that Liverpool need to ensure he has support this coming season, we’re not sure what is!

Behind him, Dominik Szoboszlai (5,633 mins) and Mac Allister (5,112 mins) underlined their presence for club and country, with the latter featuring in more games than any other player (71).
The Argentine also had added travel to navigate when it came to playing for his country, with regular trips to the United States throughout the year.
After suffering from sluggishness last season, Liverpool will be wary of another exhausting campaign taking its toll as Andoni Iraola presses ahead with an injection of intensity.

Ryan Gravenberch (5,009 mins) also surpassed the 5,000-minute threshold after earning a starting role for the Netherlands at the World Cup following another season as a Liverpool mainstay.
Moreover, the club’s summer signings shouldered plenty of the workload, with Florian Wirtz (4,698 mins), Milos Kerkez (3,980 mins) and Hugo Ekitike (3,168 mins) all above 3,000 total minutes.
The latter, of course, would have added to his tally this summer if not for his Achilles injury.

Interestingly, Curtis Jones sits in the No. 10 spot after accumulating 2,850 minutes across 49 appearances, with all his competitive action coming in a Liverpool shirt.
With continued interest from Inter Milan amid a desire to be a regular starter, Jones’ minutes reflect how he was trusted and that there is potential for more under Andoni Iraola.
The lack of international representation, however, could be one of the Scouser’s driving forces to seek an exit with the 2028 Euros the next major tournament.
