A reliable source has said that a transfer to Arsenal is expected to be completed for a fee in the region of “£75 million to £80 million”.
Fresh optimism has emerged surrounding Arsenal’s pursuit of Bruno Guimarães after talkSPORT chief football correspondent Alex Crook claimed the Newcastle United midfielder is expected to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking on TalkSport, Crook said he had been informed by a reliable source that a transfer is expected to be completed for a fee in the region of “£75 million to £80 million”.

The update comes shortly after reports from The Times revealed that Arsenal had opened direct talks with Newcastle over the Brazilian international, with Mikel Arteta identifying Guimarães as one of his priority midfield targets this summer.

According to Crook’s information, negotiations are progressing positively and there is growing confidence that an agreement can eventually be reached between the two Premier League clubs.
The proposed fee also aligns closely with previous reports suggesting Newcastle would only consider selling their captain if Arsenal increased their offer into the £75 million bracket.
Guimarães has developed into one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders since joining Newcastle from Lyon in 2022. His technical ability, leadership qualities and defensive work rate have made him one of the division’s most complete central midfielders, with Arteta believed to be a huge admirer.
The 28-year-old would add experience, creativity and intensity to an Arsenal midfield already regarded as one of the strongest in Europe, while also providing another elite-level option as the Gunners prepare to defend their Premier League title and challenge once again in the Champions League.

Although Crook’s report is encouraging for Arsenal supporters, it is important to note that neither club has confirmed an agreement and negotiations remain ongoing.
