Chelsea have had an approach worth just over £60million rejected for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.
The Blues recently contacted Bournemouth as Xabi Alonso looks to strengthen his midfield before the transfer window closes.
However, talkSPORT reports that Chelsea’s proposed figure remains well below Bournemouth’s valuation. The Cherries have also informed Scott’s suitors that they do not intend to sell him this summer.
Scott has two years remaining on his existing contract but recently rejected Bournemouth’s offer of an extension. Arsenal and Manchester United have also shown interest in the 22-year-old.

Chelsea face major Alex Scott transfer obstacle
Bournemouth reportedly value Scott at around £80million following his impressive 2025/26 campaign.
The midfielder played an important role as the Cherries secured European qualification and has since trained with Thomas Tuchel’s England squad. Bournemouth believe his age, contract and Premier League experience justify their asking price.
ReadChelsea reported earlier on Tuesday that the Blues had been handed encouragement after Scott rejected a new contract. The latest update confirms Chelsea have already tested Bournemouth’s resolve.
Scott can operate as a number eight or in a deeper midfield role. His ability to carry possession and play through pressure would suit Alonso’s approach.
However, Bournemouth’s refusal to negotiate leaves Chelsea with a decision. They must either significantly increase their offer or focus on another midfield target.
Scott’s contract rejection could create greater pressure in future windows. For now, Bournemouth remain clear that an exit will not be sanctioned.
