Alex Scott, who joined the Cherries from Bristol City, has two years remaining on his current deal.
England midfielder Alex Scott has turned down the offer of a new contract at Bournemouth, although the club remain confident he will still be their player next season.
Scott, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, joined the Cherries from Bristol City in 2023. He has two years remaining on his current deal.

The 22-year-old’s reputation has grown significantly after playing a key role in Bournemouth’s impressive sixth-place Premier League finish last season, which secured Europa League qualification.
His performances earned him an invitation from England manager Thomas Tuchel to join the Three Lions’ pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.
Scott is not the only Bournemouth player attracting interest from top Premier League clubs, with winger Eli Junior Kroupi also being monitored. However, the Cherries have made it clear that neither player is currently available for transfer.
According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Chelsea made an approach for Scott but saw their interest rejected. The Blues were willing to offer just over £60million, but that figure falls well short of Bournemouth’s valuation, with the club determined to keep hold of the midfielder.
Crook posted on X: “Chelsea have had a recent approach for Alex Scott rebuffed. Were willing to pay just north of £60m. Figure nowhere near Bournemouth’s valuation and the Cherries have made it clear to Scott’s suitors they don’t want to sell in any case.”
Scott joined Bristol City from Guernsey FC in 2020 and went on to make 91 appearances for the Championship club in all competitions.
After being named the Championship’s Young Player of the Season in 2022-23, he completed a move to Bournemouth, where he has since made 89 appearances and scored six goals.
The midfielder played a key role in helping Bournemouth finish sixth in the 2025-26 Premier League season under Andoni Iraola, securing European football for the first time in the club’s history.
New Bournemouth head coach Marco Rose is, however, confident he can keep hold of Kroupi, Scott and Rayan as the club prepares for their first European campaign.
“So far, it’s not a challenge for me, to be honest,” said Rose. “The first four days, we are in touch and my feeling is that the boys are feeling really good here.
“Kroupi made great improvement last season, so I think for him there’s no ceiling. Even he knows that he’s in a good place to improve.
“He’s playing in Europe, he’ll have many games and he’s playing in the most competitive and intensive league in the world. So far I don’t have the feeling that anyone is trying to leave the club.
“I think Alex knows what he has with this club, and it’s always about the right moment to do the next step. Because if you are a young player and you do steps – and nowadays it happens many times – too fast, too quick, then it’s getting difficult. The club is doing a lot of things to show the players that they are in the right place.”
