LeBron next team odds: Heat and Cavs favoured, but no decision appears imminent

A free agency decision from LeBron James is expected to happen... at some point.

Last week, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he was hoping James would make a decision soon so the league could set its schedule.

[On Monday, James’ agent Rich Paul](https://www.tsn.ca/nba/article/agent-no-rush-on-lebron-decision-teams-have-done-enough-n1-49415142/) seemed to have a different timeline in mind, ”We’re not going to be rushed," Paul said on the latest podcast episode of “Game Over” with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, released Monday evening. “We’re not going to be rushed. It’s his choice to make and when he makes the choice, he’ll make it.”

Nobody will ever mistake me for Adam Silver, although I once was bald for six months, but if I were the current NBA Commissioner, I’d announce the league schedule tomorrow with flex games for the season opener and Dec. 25, and I wouldn’t let James control the entire league.

However, if I were James, I’d probably take my sweet time making this decision. If the reports of James taking a pay cut / the vet minimum are true, then this means he’s looking to win another championship, and I don’t see why he needs to rush that process.

The league schedule isn’t something James should have to worry about.

But let’s get back to why we’re here.

The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers sit as the betting favourites to land James at +150 on FanDuel.

On FanDuel, the Heat and Cavs are just two of four teams to be priced under 60-1 in this market.

The Minnesota Timberwolves sit at 60-1 while the rest of the league is 100-1.

Here is a look at the full market on FanDuel.
