Alexis Mac Allister has reportedly been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with the midfielder having just two years remaining on his contract.
The Argentina international was part of the side beaten 1-0 by Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday, with reports later claiming he had told teammates he had played his last game for Liverpool.

Social media speculation also suggested Liverpool would demand around £85million if Real Madrid made a move for the 27-year-old this summer.
However, Mac Allister’s father, Carlos, has dismissed those claims, insisting his son is focused on enjoying his holiday before returning to Merseyside to work under new head coach Andoni Iraola next month.
“We have not spoken to any Real Madrid official, what is being circulated about us holding talks with Real Madrid is not true,” Mac Allister Snr told 365Scores. “Alexis is still on a two-season contract with Liverpool.
“Currently, he’ll get some rest for a few days and then go back to playing in the Premier League, that’s the current situation.”
Mac Allister is expected to be given around three weeks off following the World Cup, meaning he will return to club duty in mid-August, just under two weeks before Liverpool begin their Premier League campaign away at Newcastle.
Addressing the future of Mac Allister, Iraola said: “I think Alexis has been one of the best at this club in years. Look at the World Cup, it’s normal other clubs want the best players. Other clubs want my good players, but I am looking to sign players than lose the ones we have here.”
On Mac Allister’s return to pre-season training, Iraola added: “I think the most difficult situations logically will be Alexis and Victor because they played until the end of the tournament, so I think they deserve their holidays and some rest also.
“I hope they have time to at least train with us a little bit, but it is true that it will probably affect the beginning of the season a little bit.
“We cannot only think in the short term and the first game against Newcastle; we have to also understand, especially in the case of Alexis, who played a lot of minutes during the season and a lot of minutes in the World Cup, that they deserve this rest. All the others should be fine to arrive in perfect conditions to the first game.”
