Arsenal defender Ben White has revealed that he has fully recovered from the knee injury that prematurely ended his season.

The right-back limped off during the Gunners’ crucial 1-0 win over West Ham back in May. Surgery was not needed, but he was expected to be on the sidelines for a considerable length of time.

When asked about his fitness this week, though, White said that he has been taking a full part in pre-season:

“I’ve been training every day, really. Knee’s all good. Started training back with the team last week.”

Timber is still in rehab

While White is taking part in full training, Jurrien Timber seems to be a bit further behind in his recovery from a groin problem that has plagued him since March.

The Netherlands international did make it back for the Champions League final, but he was subsequently ruled out for the World Cup with the same issue.

Timber is still undergoing rehabilitation, and the player is being rather cautious about when he will return to action:

“Getting there slowly. Trying hard. Been rehabbing over the summer, hopefully back soon.”

Arsenal have serious injury concerns over another defender

William Saliba is unlikely to be available for the first half of the season if reports from France prove to be accurate.

Sources close to the club insist that a decision has not been made on whether the 25-year-old requires surgery on the back injury that forced him to leave the pitch during the first half of the World Cup semi-final against Spain last week.

However, there are suggestions that he will be out for up to five months if he does undergo an operation over the coming days.
