Arsenal have completed the signing of former Real Madrid Femenino goalkeeper, and captain **Misa Rodriguez** on a free transfer.
It is the seventh signing of the transfer window for the Gunners, and the second keeper to join in recent weeks after Danish youth international Isabella Damn signed after leaving Brondby IF.
A Las Blancas legend heads for London

Misa began her career at Atletico Madrid, spending two years there from 2017 to 2019 and winning three Liga F titles before moving to Deportivo ABANCA for a season.
She then moved to the newly formed Las Blancas, where she made her name and won the Zamora trophy for best goalkeeper in the 2020/21 and 2022/23 seasons.
Misa became the first woman to reach 200 appearances for Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid in January 2026. After 215 appearances, she made the decision to move on from Madrid.

The keeper. who signed for Arsenal on the day of her 26th birthday, is also an acclaimed Spanish international, having made 25 appearances for the national team, though she continues to battle with Barcelona keeper Cata Coll for that number 1 spot.
During the recent Women’s World Cup in 2023, Misa was given the chance in between the sticks, and despite keeping two clean sheets against Costa Rica and Zambia, Coll replaced her in goal for the knockouts, as Spain won the Women’s World Cup for the very first time.
A third top choice keeper in the Arsenal squad

It’s an interesting signing for the Gunners, as they already have two top goalkeepers in Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe.
