Former Liverpool man Fabinho is reportedly in talks with a European club after his stint with Al-Ittihad since leaving Anfield in 2023.

Fabinho is reportedly in talks over a return to European football.
The Brazilian left Liverpool in 2023 to join Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, in a deal worth around £40 million as part of the early wave of European stars heading to the Gulf.

His time in Jeddah was successful rather than a quiet exile, as he helped the club to a league-and-cup double in the 2024-25 season.
But his contract expired in the Kingdom at the end of this season, and Al-Ittihad have not opted to extend it.
As a result, Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos has relayed reports from local newspaper Kokkinos Protathlitis that Olympiakos are in talks with Fabinho:
“Olympiacos are in talks with Brazil international and ex Liverpool midfielder Fabinho. Story first by Greek newspaper Kokkinos Protathlitis,” he reported.
Olympiakos will start their 2026–27 European journey in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on the non-champions path, and even if they fall at that hurdle, they have at least secured a place in the Europa League league phase.
The guarantee of European football, with the possibility of Champions League nights returning to his schedule, could be a significant lure for Fabinho after his years in Saudi Arabia.
Fabinho has openly admitted that a return to Real Madrid would be a dream, describing Los Blancos as “the best club in the world” when speaking to El Chiringuito TV after Brazil’s World Cup exit.
His previous stint there was brief, limited mainly to Real Madrid Castilla and a single senior appearance in 2013 before Monaco and then Liverpool propelled him to elite status.
At 32 and currently a free agent after Al-Ittihad, a move back to Madrid now appears far-fetched, making a more realistic route like Olympiakos and guaranteed European football the most plausible next chapter in his career.
