Liverpool have made an initial enquiry into AS Monaco right winger Maghnes Akliouche, who is reportedly available for €50 million (£42.6m) this summer.
Akliouche is considered a target for Paris Saint-Germain, but with three failed bids from the Parc des Princes already, Liverpool are among his other suitors.
This Is Anfield understands that an enquiry was made into the 24-year-old’s availability earlier in the summer, but there has been no fresh approach.
The France international is one of a number of wingers being assessed as Liverpool weigh up their options to replace Mohamed Salah this summer.

More progress was made with regards a deal for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, including an offer worth in the region of €100 million (£86.6m), but the pursuit appears to have been shelved for the time being.
Diomande has communicated his preference to join PSG instead, though it is unclear how the Ligue 1 champions’ pursuit affects their advances on Akliouche.
Liverpool were credited with an interest in Akliouche back in May, with L’Equipe citing the Reds as potential rivals for his signature.
A price tag of €50 million (£42.6m) has reportedly been set and this would not be prohibitive if Liverpool were to push ahead with a move.
Why Liverpool could move for Maghnes Akliouche
Nevertheless, as it stands Akliouche should simply be considered one target among many, with sporting director Richard Hughes and his team exploring all possibilities as they await the right opportunity.
Having only turned 24 in February, Akliouche has emerged as an attractive option for a host of clubs as he seeks an exit this summer.
After joining Monaco’s academy as a 15-year-old, he made his first-team debut four years later in 2021 and has gone on to make 139 appearances for the senior side.
The majority of those have come on the right wing, but he is also capable of operating as a No. 10 or, at a push, at centre-forward.
He is a different profile to Salah and many of the other wingers Liverpool have studied, as he serves as more of a creator from out wide and excels with sharp one-touch play.
Akliouche also stands at 6’0″, which is a stark contrast to Salah (5’9″) and new arrival Munoz (5’8″), and could provide more physicality alongside an attacking midfielder of similar stature in Dominik Szoboszlai (6’1″).
PSG’s most recent bid is reported to have been worth around €40 million (£34.1m), which is far from the fee expected at Monaco.
Liverpool will face Monaco in their penultimate friendly of pre-season, welcoming the Ligue 1 side to Anfield on August 9.
