Any notion that Phil Foden could end up at AC Milan this summer seems to have been put to bed as he has signed a new deal with Manchester City.
SportMediaset were one of the sources who reported last week that Foden was an idea the Milan management were evaluating for the attacking midfielder role, given that he had just one year left on his previous contract.

Foden’s record with City speaks for itself: he has 110 goals and 68 assists in 369 games for them, across all competitions. In 2023-24 he was arguably the best player in the Premier League, with 19 goals and eight assists in 35 games.
Thus, signing him was always likely to be out of reach for the Rossoneri. Now, the official Man City website has announced that Foden has put pen to paper on a new contract that will run for another four years, suggesting he remains a key part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.
“Phil Foden has signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030.

“A lifelong City fan, the 26-year-old will continue an association with the Club that began as a nine-year-old in our Academy.
“Since making his first team debut under Pep Guardiola in 2017, he has gone on to become one of the most decorated players in our history.
“In total he has won 20 major honours with City – six Premier League titles, five League Cups, three FA Cups, three Community Shields and a Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
‘Can’t wait to work with Enzo’
Foden himself commented on having pledged his future to the team he grew up supporting: “Committing my future to City means everything to me. Playing for this club is all I’ve ever wanted to do and it’s always an honour to wear the shirt.
“It’s not lost on me that I’ve been lucky enough to be part of a historic period with so many titles won, but we’re always looking to the future and trying to win more.
“I can only thank the Club, staff, team-mates and fans who continue to put their faith in me and trust that I give everything I can for City and I hope I’ll be able to repay you for years to come.
“I can’t wait to work with Enzo again. He was brilliant during the Treble season – someone all the players respected and loved working with. To have him back here is exciting.
“Personally, I know I’ve improved so much from working with our coaches and world-class squad and as many of the legends who were here when I first broke through move on, I am excited for the next phase of my career at this great Club.”
