West Ham have made an enquiry about re-signing Axel Disasi from Chelsea, but the defender has no interest in playing Championship football, according to reports.
The Sun claim that the Hammers have “asked” about the Frenchman’s situation. He had a successful loan spell at the London Stadium last season, and he has since returned to Stamford Bridge, where he is currently training alone.
Disasi is actively seeking a permanent move away from the Blues, but no club has so far been prepared to match his £25m asking price.
While West Ham supporters on X are disappointed that the 28-year-old is not interested in a second stint with the Irons, they believe the club should be pursuing alternatives, rather than waiting to see if he changes his mind:
Gutting but understandable. That said, he’s got to move club anyway, so I wonder who he’ll go to

Move on.

A real shame if true. The fans really took to Disasi.
First bit of bad news this window.

Disasi could go to Italy or back to France
Roma and AC Milan have been linked with a move for the centre-half, while Ligue 1 sides are also said to be keen on the defender.
Chelsea may end up lowering their demands for Disasi, as they won’t be keen on keeping a player who has been effectively out of the club’s first team plans for the best part of 18 months.
Who could West Ham sign instead?
Cardiff City’s Dylan Lawlor appears to be the main alternative to Disasi. He is a highly rated young player who has already been capped 6 times by Wales.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are among those who have taken a keen interest in the 20-year-old previously.
At the moment, Cardiff are believed to be reluctant to sell Lawlor, but they have held talks with the Hammers about a potential sale. It is a transfer story to keep a close eye on over the next few days.
