NEW YORK — Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is going to have to share some of the video game spotlight this year with Bulls great Derrick Rose.
Video game publisher 2K Sports announced on Wednesday that Rose will be on the cover of the limited time NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition. Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs will appear on the cover of the Standard Edition and Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever will appear on the Deluxe Edition.
The Standard Edition ($69.99) launches widely on Sept. 4. The Deluxe ($99.99) and Ultra ($149.99) editions launch with early access on Aug. 28.
Rose was also on the cover of NBA 2K13.
“This is a chance to inspire young athletes to stay obsessed with the game,” Rose said. “To show them that when you put in the countless hours of hard work, it rewards you.”
The Bulls retired Rose’s No. 1 this year in a ceremony at the United Center.
Wembanyama said being on the cover was “a dream come true,” and Clark said being on a cover “is special because this game reaches fans all over the world.”
Earlier this year, EA Sports picked Williams to be on the cover of the Madden 27 NFL video game.
