Particularly, the new Knicks big man is wondering why the reigning Finals MVP was not even considered to be named the cover athlete of the upcoming NBA 2K27 over Victor Wembanyama.
On X (formerly Twitter), Drummond sparked chatter upon questioning Wembanyama being named the new face of the NBA 2K franchise.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Shams Charania broke the news that Victor Wembanyama has been selected as the cover athlete for NBA 2K27 Standard Edition.
Wembanyama becomes the first player from the San Antonio Spurs to be named a cover athlete of the game, and the first true center to be featured on the cover since Shaquille O'Neal.
The French superstar is well-deserving of the honors. Averaging 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.1 blocks per game across 64 appearances in the 2025-26 season, Wembanyama delivered a dominant season to lead the Spurs' 62-win meteoric outing and a trip to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014.
He was also named the youngest and first-ever unanimous Defensive Player of the Year winner.
Still, Jalen Brunson would also have been a brilliant consideration for NBA 2K. Yet in the end, the New York Knicks superstar was not chosen as a cover athlete.
Brunson served as the driving force of the Knicks' 2026 NBA championship, establishing himself as an all-time great in one of the most compelling playoff runs of all time.
The standard edition of NBA 2K27 will officially release worldwide on Sept. 4, while fans can gain early access on Aug. 28 by purchasing a special edition.
