The dog days of the NBA offseason are upon us. Giannis finally got traded, LaMelo Ball is a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves and LeBron James is still holding everything else up (just ask Adam Silver).
Meanwhile, NBA fans and social media aggregator accounts have been posting clips from Fanatics Fest as if that’s where all the biggest offseason decisions are being made. And hell, there was enough star power in New York for those types of conversations to take place.
Those headlining the event actually included LeBron James and Anthony Edwards, who we know has talked to his USA teammate from the 2024 Summer Olympics about playing in Minnesota, as has LaMelo Ball apparently.
Is that a wedding ring on Anthony Edwards’ finger?
What nobody seemed to pick up while Ant was at Fanatics Fest last week — except for @nicoletteMpls on X — was the new jewelry on his left hand. But go back and check the tape for yourself. It’s on his left ring finger in the video below, clear as day.

So… could it be true? Did our favorite soon-to-be 25-year-old NBA superstar have a secret wedding ceremony that nobody knows about? He does have a girlfriend since 2020 named Shannon Jackson (previously Jeanine Robel). The two have a 2-year-old daughter named Aislynn.
To this point, though, there’s been zero reporting on Ant even getting engaged, let alone tying the knot. But after looking back at old and more recent photos and video clips of Edwards off the basketball court, there was no doubt the ring is new.

That left me no choice but to put my Big J. hat on and get to the bottom of this MN Timberwolves mystery. And that’s what I did. So after asking around and checking in with a variety of different sources who would know — just kidding, I found the marriage certificate online via public records.
Sure enough, though, while we’ve all been busy waiting for LeBron James news, Anthony Jerome Edwards indeed took a major step in his personal life, officially marrying Shannon La’Shay Jackson in Hennepin County on July 16, 2026.

Obviously, Anthony Edwards and Shannon Jackson have had their issues in recent years, including fathering children with another woman, amid a plethora of other cheating scandals.
Through it all, she hasn’t blinked publicly, outside of some instagram rants and deactivations. And now, she’s got Ant locked down… at least legally speaking.
