According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Charlotte Hornets have been tagged to the German star.
"The Charlotte Hornets have been linked with interest in Schroder," per Scotto. "It’s worth noting that Hornets executive Jeff Peterson is said to still be a fan of Schroder dating back to their time together in Atlanta."

Dennis Schroder spent the past 2025-26 season in both Sacramento and Cleveland. He began the season as a member of the Kings until he was dealt to the Cavs ahead of the past February trade deadline.
Schroder averaged 10.8 points, 4.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game across 70 total regular-season appearances for both the Kings and Cavaliers combined. But his numbers declined to 5.5 points on 38.1 percent shooting across 15.9 minutes during the NBA Playoffs, where the Cavs reached the Conference Finals for the first time since 2018.
The veteran guard inked a three-year, $44.4 million contract with the Kings in last year's offseason, with 2027-28 being partially guaranteed.
With LaMelo Ball gone and now in Minnesota, the Charlotte Hornets are a team worth monitoring that could certainly pursue Schroder to fill their needed hole at the backcourt.
As such, Schroder was linked to recent speculation surrounding the Cavaliers' pursuit of LeBron James, where he might be dealt along with Max Strus by Cleveland to gain financial flexibility in signing the 41-year-old superstar in this year's free agency.
