Arsenal transfer news## Arsenal have already made two signings this summer and are expected to dip back into the market
05:00, 23 Jul 2026
Arsenal got their first two summer transfer deals done before the World Cup was over and now have a chance to keep adding to their ranks. Piero Hincapie has completed a permanent move - with the fee offset by a trio of sales - while Illan Meslier joined on a free after leaving Leeds.
One man who won't be joining is Morgan Rogers, who completed a £117million switch from Aston Villa to Chelsea despite early Gunners interest. With the England man moving elsewhere, though, Mikel Arteta looks to have funds which can be used elsewhere.
While the Premier League champions aren't in pre-season action until August 1, some players have reported back for training. Whether all of them stay is a different matter.

Ins and outs are expected for the London side, with one long-time target our focus today. Here's the latest from around the Emirates Stadium.
Newcastle look for Guimaraes clarity
Newcastle United have approached Arsenal to assess their appetite for Bruno Guimaraes, Sky Sports reports. The Magpies have allegedly made this move after receiving no formal approach from the Gunners directly.
Discussions appear to via intermediaries up until this point. Amid the uncertainty, Newcastle are believed to fear their captain has grown unsettled by the ongoing speculation and are keen to get a feel for the situation.
Eddie Howe's squad have already seen Sandro Tonali depart this summer and would prefer to avoid losing another midfielder - especially one who has thrived since joining during Howe's first window in charge. Arsenal have other options on their radar if the Brazilian ends up staying put, with Bournemouth star Alex Scott chief among them.
Hamburg still confident on Vieira
Fabio Vieira has rejoined his Arsenal team-mates for pre-season training despite receiving an offer from Hamburg for the playmaker. The Portuguese shone during his loan spell in Germany last season and could yet return permanently but nothing is set in stone.
Hamburg chose not to activate a £17m permanent transfer clause but are undoubtedly fans. While board member Eric Huwer told Kicker the club remains interested, Arsenal may be holding out for proposals from other potential buyers.
"We've kind of fallen in love with Fabio," Huwer said. "We're fighting for him every day and have also submitted figures to Arsenal. They're not even budging yet.
