Arsenal have considered signing Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga this summer, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The Gunners are expected to make a move for an elite midfielder this summer.
They recently entered into direct talks with Newcastle United over Bruno Guimaraes but are also reportedly monitoring Camavinga’s situation.
Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers, although the 23-year-old is keen to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu and fight for his place next season.
Camavinga could be a smart addition to Arsenal
Manchester United have also been linked with Camavinga as INEOS continue their long-term midfield rebuild.
The 23-year-old is predominantly a defensive midfielder, but he has operated in several positions during his five-year spell with Madrid.
He bagged two goals and one assist in 43 games across all competitions last campaign.
The young Frenchman is a reliable ball distributor, having registered a 92 percent passing accuracy in La Liga last season.
He also won 63 percent of his duels while averaging almost four tackles per 90 minutes.
He averaged only 53 minutes per La Liga game last term and could play more regularly at the north London club.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would love to work with a technically gifted midfielder like Camavinga.
His presence in central midfield could make him the perfect partner for Declan Rice.
His intelligent movement into the left half-space would also create additional attacking freedom for the left-back.
While agreeing a transfer fee with Real Madrid may not prove difficult, persuading Camavinga to leave the Spanish giants could ultimately be Arsenal’s biggest obstacle.
