The next Chelsea signing Xabi Alonso wants through the door after Morgan Rogers

With the signing of Morgan Rogers wrapped up, Xabi Alonso has turned his attention straight to fixing a Chelsea issue.

Chelsea may have boosted their attack with the arrival of Morgan Rogers, but there is still plenty of work to be done ahead of the new Premier League season.

Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix looks the likeliest, though interest in former Manchester City centre-back John Stones on a free transfer makes him an alternative.

Depending on departures, like we’re seeing with Alejandro Garnacho, Alonso may also seek a reliable senior goalkeeper to challenge for the starting spot. Filip Jorgensen wants to leave Stamford Bridge, which leaves Robert Sanchez and Mike Penders as the only two options.

With his best mate Morgan Rogers announced, how many goals and assists does Cole Palmer get this season?👀

Xabi Alonso is desperate for a centre-back signing

MaxFSport has claimed that Xabi Alonso wants the centre-back situation sorted as soon as possible so he knows who he is working with.

The defence is seen as very important for the foundation of what he wants to build at Chelsea.

He also states that Alex Scott gave encouragement to Chelsea about joining them, hence the bid from the club that was rejected by Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, left-back Pep Chavarria and others may soon be advised to further push for moves away in the hope of unlocking negotiations.

Chelsea have been quick to get their business done

Chelsea have already brought in big first-team names like Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and Marco Palestra from Atalanta, while also picking up Valentin Barco to add immediate quality to Xabi Alonso’s squad.

What really stands out, though, is how quickly they locked down young talent through pre-agreements. Deals for Sporting Lisbon’s Geovany Quenda and teenage forward Dastan Satpayev were are already tied up.

It shows a clear, organised plan, giving Alonso fresh options today while securing the club’s long-term future without fuss.

It’s just experience that needs to be acquired now after missing out on Granit Xhaka.
