Amara Nallo is set to spend the campaign with Finnish side HJK Helsinki, with Liverpool agreeing a deal to send the young centre-back out on loan.

Nallo will join HJK on a season-long loan upon the completion of a medical this week, having already been registered for their Europa League squad.

HJK will face Coleraine in the second qualifying round, with the first leg of their tie coming on Thursday evening.

It remains to be seen if Nallo will join in time to feature in that clash, but the 19-year-old can be expected to take up a prominent role during his loan.

There will have been no shortage of interest in the teenager, who already has considerable experience training alongside Liverpool’s first team, though his introduction to senior football has proved difficult.

He became the first Liverpool player to ever be sent off in consecutive appearances with red cards against PSV Eindhoven and Crystal Palace last year.

But after coming on for a more convincing cameo against Qarabag in last season’s Champions League the hope is that he can put those troubles behind him.

HJK are nearing the midway point in their Veikkausliiga campaign and are currently fifth, which is likely to secure their progress to the Champions Series.

Currently managed by Joonas Rantanen, who has held a raft of different positions at the club since joining in 2009, their squad includes former Norwich striker Teemu Pukki.

Liverpool confirmed their first loan of the summer on Wednesday with midfielder Kyle Kelly joining Forest Green Rovers until January.

Goalkeeper Armin Pecsi is nearing a move to Austrian side TSV Hartberg, while fellow stopper Kornel Misciur is expected to secure a part-time loan to a non-league club.

Keyrol Figueroa is also in line for a temporary switch, while decisions will be made on a number of players currently on tour with the first team in the United States.

Kieran Morrison is chief among those, with the U21s captain attracting interest from Germany, while Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Calum Scanlon and James McConnell are also expected to gain experience elsewhere.

Lewis Koumas, Luke Chambers and Calvin Ramsay will all seek new clubs either on a permanent or temporary basis, but Jayden Danns‘ immediate future depends on his recovery from a hamstring setback.
