Arsenal complete formalities for signing on Wednesday– Official announcement expected today

Christos Tzolis

Arsenal have signed Christos Tzolis

Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis is on his way to Arsenal, and only the official announcement is now missing.

Last season, the winger starred for the Belgian club, scoring 22 goals and contributing 29 assists.

He has attracted interest from several clubs but gave a clear preference to Arsenal. This allowed them to make advances and find an agreement with the Jupiler Pro League side.

Last weekend, Sport Witness covered claims from Belgium that the Gunners and Club Brugge had sorted out the last details of the deal. The latter will collect €40m plus bonuses, making Tzolis the league’s new record sale.

Two days ago, Al-Sadd manager Răzvan Lucescu, who previously managed him at PAOK, confirmed his impending move to the Emirates.

Status of Tzolis’ transfer to Arsenal

Journalist Dimitris Manakos has been constantly covering the Premier League winners’ pursuit of the 24-year-old.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report Christos Tzolis had the second part of the medical with the Gunners on Wednesday.

Later that day, the journalist shared another post on X, to report that the attacker has ‘successfully completed’ his medical tests with Arsenal.

He has to sign the contract with Mikel Arteta’s side, who can then make his arrival official.

When Arsenal could announce

In another post on X, he claims the expectation is for the north London club to announce Christos Tzolis’ signing on Thursday. However, Dimitris Manakos hasn’t confirmed this from his own sources.

There won’t be any new twist in this case as the English champions have completed all transfer formalities to formalise the Greek international’s arrival. Therefore, it shouldn’t take long for Arsenal to make the signing official.

Tzolis spent three years at Norwich City between 2021 and 2024. He spent two of those out on loan at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The Greek international managed three goals and two assists from 30 matches for the Canaries.
