TSV Egger Glas Hartberg have confirmed the signing of Liverpool goalkeeper Armin Pecsi on a season-long loan for the 2026-27 campaign, handing the highly rated Hungarian his first opportunity to play regular senior football since arriving at Anfield last summer.
The Austrian Bundesliga side announced the deal on Thursday after the 21-year-old completed the formalities of his temporary switch, with Liverpool viewing the move as an important step in his development.

Pecsi joined Liverpool from Hungarian club Puskas Akademia in June 2025 after an impressive breakthrough season in his homeland.
A nominee for the 2025 Golden Boy award before moving to Merseyside, the goalkeeper spent his first year at Liverpool as the Under-21s’ first choice while training regularly with the first-team.
Although he did not make his competitive debut for the Reds, he was included in several first-team matchday squads and came close to making his bow when Freddie Woodman suffered an injury during a Premier League match against Crystal Palace before continuing.
Pecsi said on his official announcement: “I’m very happy to be at TSV Hartberg now. The club has a clear strategy of developing young players while also being successful – that’s exactly what convinced me from the start. I felt the club’s trust right from the first talks and I’m glad to be here now. I’m looking forward to getting started, working hard every day and doing my part to help us achieve our shared goals.”
The move to Hartberg had been expected for several days after Pecsi was omitted from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States. Reports at the time suggested the club wanted him to gain consistent first-team experience rather than remain fourth in the goalkeeping pecking order behind Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Woodman.
Andoni Iraola confirmed earlier this week that Pecsi will leave Anfield on loan this summer.
“We are going to send on loan, for example, Armin [Pecsi], ‘keepers that probably are in another phase, but have the guarantee of those ‘keepers that already because of different reasons also,” he said.
Liverpool have long considered the Hungary international one of their most promising young goalkeepers, and a loan spell in Austria is seen as the ideal next stage of his progression.
