Liverpool have officially confirmed the contract extension of a defender this summer ahead of pre-season friendlies getting underway.

Liverpool FC Women have been one of the busiest teams in the summer window, with Gareth Taylor’s squad seeing both incomings and outgoings.
Mao Itamura has arrived from Feyenoord as a direct attacking boost, fresh off winning the Women’s Eredivisie Player of the Year award.

Experienced midfielder Denise O’Sullivan has moved on to Gotham FC, and forward Leanne Kiernan is now being linked with a move to Newcastle United as the shake-up continues.
But with some continuity needed ahead of the 2026/27 WSL season, Liverpool FC have officially confirmed that defender Lucy Parry has signed a new contract with the club.
Parry has been with the Reds since she was seven, came through the academy, and became the youngest player in Liverpool FC Women history when she debuted at 16 years and 150 days.
Speaking after the announcement, Parry said:
“I’m delighted. This is exactly where I want to be,” the 22-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com. “I’m just ready to push on and keep pushing and improving. I’m really excited for the new season.”
“I’m Liverpool through and through and I wouldn’t want it any other way. This is exactly where I want to be.”
“For me, I just want to push on every day, be the best version of myself. And with the team around me, I feel like we’re something special here.”
The defender also brings useful international experience, having captained England’s Under-19s and featured for England youth sides at Under-23 level as well.
Parry spent time on loan with Hibernian in Scotland during the 2023-24 campaign. She opened her Liverpool account in January 2025, scoring in a Women’s FA Cup fourth-round victory away to West Ham United.
Her contract extension comes as Liverpool FC Women prepare for their pre-season friendlies, which include games against Sheffield United, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Manchester United and Durham.
