Bradley Barcola looks set to be one of the main protagonists of the summer transfer window, as teams continue to circle a possible deal for the PSG star.
Liverpool has been widely reported as an interested party for the winger, who has entered the final two years of his contract at the Parc des Princes and faces an uncertain future.
PSG's links with a new forward, most notably Yan Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche, continue to play into the discussions surrounding a possible exit, as teams position themselves for a deal. While Liverpool is clearly in the market for a winger, with Barcola being a standout name, other sides such as Arsenal continue to be linked with a possible transfer.
Other reports have suggested that Barcelona could also be in the mix, as the Spanish side looks to build on winning La Liga last season with an effort to compete in the Champions League again.
As the situation surrounding Barcola continues to develop, Fabrizio Romano has given an update on where Liverpool stands in the race to sign the 23-year-old this summer.
The journalist revealed that the Reds are showing the most concrete interest in signing the Champions League-winner, having ramped up an effort to land him before other teams look to get in the mix.

Romano adds that there is no truth in the links surrounding Barcelona's interest in Barcola, while Arsenal remain interested without pushing to sign the winger so far.
Any move from Liverpool will be dependent on the valuation set by PSG, which remains unknown as things stand, with the French club currently keen to keep hold of the star.
That said, no talks over a new contract have occurred, and considering the club's push to sign another forward or two, it would suggest an exit is possible.

It means that, at least for now, Liverpool will have to play the waiting game as timing could be crucial in being able to land Barcola this summer.

The Reds' transfer interest in Akliouche could play a role in speeding up proceedings, but it will all depend on when PSG will set a price for their star player and when he may be open to the move.
That could be in days or weeks, but for Liverpool, the clear priority is to get a new winger through the door who can replace the influence of Mohamed Salah.
