Between the NBA Summer League and free agency, the NBA offseason has been nothing short of hectic. Multiple superstars have switched teams, with some being traded while others chose new destinations in free agency. The offseason isn’t over just yet, with a few notable players still left to decide where they’ll sign.
Every NBA team’s roster and/or front office changed in some way this offseason, though some far more than others. For the most part, rosters are nearly finalized, so here’s each team’s offseason grade.

**Atlanta Hawks: B+**The Hawks’ roster didn’t change much this offseason. They acquired both Aaron Wiggins and Luguentz Dort from the Thunder, giving them an elite defensive backcourt and a young, promising guard.
**Boston Celtics: C+**The Celtics undoubtedly got worse this offseason, losing Jaylen Brown and essentially replacing him with an aging Paul George. They finally found a reliable center by bringing in Mitchell Robinson, but he’s not much better than Nikola Vučević.
**Brooklyn Nets: B+**The Nets added Keon Ellis, a reliable backup point guard, Julius Randle, a good scorer to put alongside Michael Porter Jr., and Moritz Wagner, a serviceable backup center. They also drafted Mikel Brown Jr., one of the best pure scorers in the draft.

Charlotte Hornets: CThe Hornets shipped LaMelo Ball, their franchise player, in exchange for Naz Reid. They also got rid of Miles Bridges and made a bunch of minor signings. Coming off their best season in 10 years, this was a shocking offseason.
**Chicago Bulls: B+**The Bulls hired a new front office while also bringing in Norman Powell and Nic Claxton, two players who will start for them. They also may have gotten the best player in the draft class, Caleb Wilson, with the No. 4 pick.
**Cleveland Cavaliers: C-**The Cavs haven’t made any additions this offseason. They did re-sign Donovan Mitchell and will probably do the same with James Harden. Waiting on LeBron may cause them to have an unsuccessful offseason.
**Dallas Mavericks: A-**The Mavericks’ biggest move of the offseason was bringing in Masai Ujiri as their president of basketball operations and Dusty May as head coach. They also added Zacharie Risacher for essentially nothing, bringing in a player with high upside at a low cost.
Denver Nuggets: CThe Nuggets have not done much at all this offseason. They brought in Marvin Bagley and re-signed Tyus Jones.
**Detroit Pistons: B+**The Pistons flipped their personnel a ton this offseason, but they did improve. John Collins and Isaiah Joe headline their offseason additions, and a likely re-signing of Jalen Duren puts this down as a successful offseason.

**Golden State Warriors: C+**The Warriors didn’t make any additions this offseason. Instead, it was filled with a bunch of re-signings. Drafting Yaxel Lendeborg is what makes the offseason a bit above average.

**Houston Rockets: C-**The Rockets’ season ended in disappointment, and they didn’t do much at all to fix their holes. They re-signed a couple of players and brought in Marcus Smart and Bogdan Bogdanović.
Indiana Pacers: CThe Pacers signed Kelly Oubre Jr. and Larry Nance Jr., improvements over the players who departed this offseason. They also lost their top-four protected lottery pick as it fell to No. 5.
Los Angeles Clippers: BThe Clippers traded Kawhi Leonard for younger talent, making themselves worse in the short term but building a roster that better fits the same timeline. They also lost John Collins, who had been a big piece for them over the last couple of years.
**Los Angeles Lakers: A+**The Lakers lost LeBron and flipped their roster upside down, but came back significantly better. Los Angeles signed Quentin Grimes, Walker Kessler, Collin Sexton, Matisse Thybulle, and several other quality role players, improving at nearly every position.
Memphis Grizzlies: DThe Grizzlies are rebuilding… again. After moving on from Ja Morant, they acquired a lot of players on different timelines. Their only bright spot was drafting Cameron Boozer.

Miami Heat: CMiami made a blockbuster trade to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, giving up multiple picks, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Kasparas Jakucionis. They also acquired Tim Hardaway Jr., but if LeBron decides to sign elsewhere, this team is in the same position as last year.
**Milwaukee Bucks: A-**The Bucks moved on from Giannis, but acquired a ton of young talent in the deal, accelerating their rebuild. They also drafted Brayden Burries, who has looked like the steal of the draft, and Nate Ament.
**Minnesota Timberwolves: A-**Minnesota’s two biggest moves were acquiring LaMelo Ball and re-signing Ayo Dosunmu. The Timberwolves finally got the elite guard they’ve been searching for, and their starting lineup looks like one of the best in the league.
**New Orleans Pelicans: D-**The Pelicans did not do anything of substance this offseason when their team desperately needed it. Kevon Looney signed elsewhere, and they re-signed 38-year-old DeAndre Jordan.
New York Knicks: BThe Knicks are coming off an NBA championship, and they re-signed most of their key contributors. They let Mitchell Robinson sign elsewhere while improving their frontcourt depth by signing elite rebounder Andre Drummond.
**Oklahoma City Thunder: C+**The Thunder’s depth took a hit this offseason, but they accomplished their goal of staying below the second apron. They remain a top team in the West; they just had a quiet offseason.
Orlando Magic: CThe Magic had a very plain and boring offseason, keeping the majority of their roster the same. They brought back Nikola Vučević to replace Moritz Wagner.

**Philadelphia 76ers: A+**The 76ers traded for Jaylen Brown, catapulting them into Eastern Conference favorites. Their team was good before; now it is elite. They are also one of the few teams still in the LeBron sweepstakes.
**Phoenix Suns: B-**Phoenix got a bit better this offseason. The Suns added Miles Bridges and Luke Kennard to replace Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale.
**Portland Trail Blazers: B+**Portland made a high-risk, high-reward move this offseason by trading for Ja Morant. The Trail Blazers now have a ton of depth at guard and might have positioned themselves as a contender after this trade.
**Sacramento Kings: C-**The Kings made no moves outside of re-signings this offseason. They drafted Darius Acuff, which was the highlight of their offseason and the only reason they didn’t receive a D.
San Antonio Spurs: BComing off a Finals appearance, the Spurs didn’t need to do much. They re-signed Victor Wembanyama to a team-friendly extension and added a veteran scorer in Tobias Harris.
**Toronto Raptors: B-**Toronto made a huge move by trading for Kawhi Leonard, pairing him alongside Scottie Barnes. Though the Raptors got better, they are in no way a good team.
**Utah Jazz: B-**Utah added Jaxson Hayes and Josh Okogie, but their biggest addition was Darryn Peterson. Peterson showcased his scoring ability in the Summer League, and Jazz fans should be ecstatic.
Washington Wizards: BWashington re-signed Trae Young and added Deandre Ayton while bringing back Khris Middleton. They also drafted AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 pick. The Wizards got a lot better, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a playoff appearance.
