Christos Tzolis has spoken for the first time since completing his move to Arsenal and made clear his desire to make an immediate impact.
New signings often speak of their excitement in the first interviews after completing a move. Players who arrive with strong goalscoring records are quick to outline their ambitions. Settling into a new environment and understanding the manager’s plans form an important early focus.
Versatile forwards who thrive in tight spaces and contribute both goals and assists bring valuable qualities to a squad. Those returning to the Premier League after time abroad frequently feel better prepared for the physical and technical demands. First impressions of the club and teammates can set the tone for the season ahead.

Christos Tzolis has spoken for the first time since completing his move to Arsenal and made clear his desire to make an immediate impact. The Greece international said he is still coming to terms with the transfer after a stellar campaign at Club Brugge.
“I need some time to realise, I think!” he said. “It’s absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England. I’m very proud to be part of this team for the next season.
“When my agent was saying maybe it was a possibility, I was already excited. Afterwards it was getting more serious and now I’m here.”
Tzolis held a positive conversation with Mikel Arteta that lasted around an hour. “I had a nice conversation [with Mikel Arteta]. It was around an hour. We talked about everything, about the club, about myself, about his plans, about me of course, about the team. It was only positive things.”

The 24-year-old described his style of play clearly. “I’m a direct player, I go for goals or assists,” he said. “That’s my point of view as an attacker, as a winger. I’m always hungry to score or to give the final pass to my teammates. And I can say I work hard for the team, also in the defensive part.”
Having previously played for Norwich, Tzolis believes he is better prepared for the Premier League this time. “I can say more or less that I know the level of the Premier League,” he added. “I know it’s the best league in the world. Of course it’s different if you play for Norwich or Arsenal, I think you have the ball more as a player of Arsenal. So we attack more the other teams. It’s very physical, the league and the quality is very high, so I’m prepared for that.”
He recalled facing Arsenal in the Champions League last season. “I can say it was the most difficult team to attack against that I’ve played so far. We played against other big teams, but against Arsenal, we had the most difficulties to make clear chances.”
Tzolis is looking forward to linking up with his new teammates and scoring at the Emirates. “I’m looking forward to meeting everybody on the pitch, at the stadium, and to score my first goal at the Emirates.” His targets are clear: settle well, play as much as possible and help the team win titles.
