Darwin Nunez is reportedly in shock talks with a move to the MLS despite being in the prime of his career and wanted in Europe.
His future has been a talking point ever since he left Anfield, with many Liverpool supporters still closely tracking what happens next for the 27-year-old.

It has been a tough spell for the Uruguayan in the Saudi Pro League. His stint in the Gulf quickly fell apart after Karim Benzema arrived in January and pushed him out of the squad because of the league’s foreign-player quota rules.
But it seems that a respite could be found in the MLS for Darwin Nunez.
The reliable Tom Bogert and Paul Tenerio of the Athletic report that Atlanta United want the former Liverpool striker and talks have already started:
“Atlanta United is pursuing Uruguay international forward Darwin Núñez.”
“Talks have commenced but are not yet advanced, sources add. The club is simultaneously negotiating with a few high-level targets, including Switzerland World Cup forward Breel Embolo.”
The report adds that Atlanta have the financial strength to pursue ambitious moves, although they do not currently have a vacant designated player spot.
That may soon change, with club-record signing Emmanuel Latte Lath edging closer to the exit door.
A designated player spot is basically a special roster slot in MLS that lets a club sign a bigger-name player whose wages and transfer fee go beyond the normal salary cap.
In simple terms, it means the club can pay that player more than usual without it counting fully against the team’s budget.
Meanwhile, any Reds fans hoping of a romantic and all together unrealistic return for Nunez will be disappointed. The Athletic’s James Pearce rubbished the rumours that did rounds on social media last month – labelling it a “ridiculous idea.”
But for a player still in the prime of his career, a move to the MLS will certainly raise some eyebrows.
