Liverpool could bring Jarell Quansah back to Anfield next summer with a deal for his return already in place, per reports, should the Reds give the green light.
Last summer, Liverpool committed to a £116m transfer fee for the signing of mercurial talent Florian Wirtz. The Reds also signed Jeremie Frimpong as part of a double deal.
At the time, it was reported that part of the arrangement was for Liverpool to sell Quansah to Leverkusen, with the Englishman making a £34m move to the Bundesliga.
Speaking about the move, Quansah told Sky Sports News: “It was the [Leverkusen] management and the way they approached me, because they had a very clear plan of what they’d been watching and everything they saw from me,” he told Sky Sports News about his move.
“They had so much detail in terms of what they’d seen of me, the potential they thought I could live up, to and it matched up to what I was thinking as well. Seeing as we were on the same page in that sense, it was a no-brainer.”
It now seems as though a framework for a deal to bring him back to Anfield is already in place, and Liverpool simply need to give a 2027 transfer their approval.

According to a report from Liverpool ECHO chief LFC correspondent, there is already a deal in place that could see Quansah return to Anfield, but the Reds must still give it the green light.
Doyle writes: “Liverpool are in a bit of a tricky spot regards their defensive resources at the moment. Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet are clearly regarded as the future with almost £100million spent on the pair, but one is injured and neither have played a minute in the Premier League.
“At right-back, Conor Bradley will be the first choice when back fit, but Iraola admits that might not be for months.
“It seems unlikely, though, that Liverpool will buy a centre-back and a right-back this summer.
“Centre-back, though, is a different story. Jarell Quansah could well return next summer with a deal already in place should Liverpool give it the green light, and even if he does that may still leave the Reds short with decisions needed to be made on Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, who are both out of contract at the end of the season.”
Quansah’s transfer contract with Liverpool and Leverkusen included a buy-back clause which will see his release clause drop from €80 million (£69.2m) to €65 million (£56.2m).
