Arsenal could enter the market for a new defender in the summer transfer window after it was confirmed that William Saliba has suffered a back injury.
The Gunners have released a statement on Wednesday confirming that Saliba has suffered a back injury which requires a period of rehabilitation.
After extensive assessments, it was concluded that surgery is not recommended, but he is now expected to be out for an extended period.
Arsenal haven't confirmed how long Saliba will actually be out for, but it's rare that clubs release statements for minor injuries.
It appears that the French defender will miss at least a few months, and that could force Arsenal into the market for a new signing.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Sporting CP centre-back Zeno Debast in the summer transfer window.
Debast, described as a 'colossus', is a player that Arsenal are aware of and could make a move to sign this summer after Saliba's injury.
It's claimed that it could cost in the region of £35 million, so it could be a reasonably low-cost option for the Gunners.
Arsenal haven't ruled out making a move to sign Debast when they were contacted via intermediaries over a potential deal.
