Newcastle United have stuck to their guns with Bruno Guimaraes - after an advert for the club's new away shirt got the green light to keep their club captain firmly in the picture.
With fresh reports from the capital suggesting that Bruno will be the subject of a £70m bid from Arsenal, Toon chiefs did not hesitate when keeping the Brazil international in the Adidas advert for the launch of the new kit.
This is understood to have been a considered decision from the club and one that says out loud that Newcastle mean it when they say they don't want to sell the South American.
Chronicle Live has been told that even if Arsenal do bid £70m for Guimaraes, the offer will be deemed paltry and will be rejected.
As things stand, there has been no bid, approach or transfer request from Bruno, and the Magpies expected the player to report for pre-season training at the start of next month for the club's La Manga training camp.
We have been told that Newcastle's stance on Bruno and retaining his services, is not just his ability on the field, but what he brings to the club off the pitch too.
Deemed as one of Eddie Howe's crucial leaders, the club see the Brazilian as the perfect man to guide incoming youngsters such as Ewen Jaouen, Sean Steur, Aladji Bamba and Bazoumana Touré.
Arsenal have held talks on signing Bruno internally but Newcastle are still waiting for the first official offer to be tabled and this is causing frustration for the Magpies who don't want their skipper unsettled.
Bruno appears on the Adidas advert alongside first-team stars such as Nick Woltemade and Malick Thiaw with Newcastle also making it clear they want to stick with the Germany striker before he went to the World Cup.
Whether Arsenal decide to leave the room on Bruno remains to be seen but they felt that the price tag of £117m on Morgan Rogers was too high before he went to Chelsea.
That could prove to be the case here but as Newcastle showed with Sandro Tonali they are tough sellers as they held out for £100m following Tottenham Hotspur's continued attempts to buy him.
