### Aroldis Chapman
* **Key stats:** 23 of Boston's 27 saves, second straight All-Star appearance
The MLB's [all-time strikeout leader for relievers](https://nesn.com/boston-red-sox/news/aroldis-chapman-red-sox-history-strikeout-record/130578435eaeed86abdd369d) has been a shutdown closer for the Red Sox this season, earning his ninth All-Star selection.
### Willson Contreras
* **Key stats:** Team-high 22 home runs and 66 RBIs; .361 batting average during winning streak
In his first season in Boston, Contreras is having one of the best years of his career. He leads the Red Sox in home runs, RBIs, batting average (.293) and on-base percentage (.389), and he became the first Boston player to participate in the Home Run Derby since 2011.
### Sonny Gray
* **Key stats:** 12-1 (Leads AL), 2.48 ERA, one run or zero runs allowed in 12 of 18 starts
After suffering an injury early in the season, Gray has been Boston's best starting pitcher, leading the team in wins and innings pitched (101 2/3).
### Ceddanne Rafaela
* **Key stats:** 16 defensive runs saved (leads all CF), first career All-Star appearance
Thought to be on the outside looking in at the start of the season, Rafaela leads the Red Sox in hits (104) while providing a stable presence in the outfield.
### Ranger Suarez
* **Key stats:** .287 opposing OBP (tied for best in rotation), .333 opposing SLG (lowest in rotation)
Coming over from Philadelphia, Suarez has performed well in his first season in Boston, leading the team in strikeouts (97). He earned his second All-Star appearance, but he had to miss the event because he was on the injured list.
