Christos Tzolis signs for Arsenal

**Arsenal** have acquired attacker **Christos Tzolis** on a long-term contract.

The club agreed a deal with **Club Brugge** for a fee of £34 million after the Greek spent two years in the Belgian top tier. His tally of 22 strikes and 29 assists across all competitions in the 2025/26 season helped push the team to the top of the Belgian Pro League as he was nominated Player of the Season.

Indeed, it was the third year in a row that Tzolis had notched more than 20 goals in a club campaign, having been the joint-top scorer in the second division of Germany during a loan spell at **Fortuna Dusseldorf**. He has been making up for lost time on the continent after his first stint in England.

Tzolis had previously played as a teenager in the **Premier League** for **Norwich City**, featuring in 14 fixtures as the _Canaries_ immediately returned back to the **Championship**. **Arsenal** are confident that the story will be different this time now that the 24-year-old has extra experience in the men’s game.

Sporting director **Andrea Berta** said, _"Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line. He's an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability._

_"Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he's a player who will raise the technical level of our squad, while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality to our team."_

· **How does this transfer help Arsenal?**

------------------------------------------

The news comes just eight days after the first big exit of the transfer window for the _Gunners_.

**Leandro Trossard** called time on a three-and-a-half-year spell in North London. Since his debut in January 2023, the Belgian banked 67 goal contributions for the club, a tally second only to **Bukayo Saka**. He achieved this output as the ‘twelfth man’ of the camp, providing key goals off the bench.

His impact will be even more dearly missed after his final full campaign at the **Emirates Stadium**. The attacker would establish a fruitful relationship with **Riccardo Calafiori** to compensate for the lack of top-end quality in the left wing department, helping to take the team over the line to the title.

Tzolis is being tasked with a tough role to replace in the group, and there will be particular pressure on him to perform if he is the only signing for the position. But the **Premier League** champions must continue to evolve, and he steps into a much better environment to make a mark on English shores.
