Joe Vardon debunked this recent viral reporting in his latest report for The Athletic.
"Also, there have been suggestions made on TV this week that James made up his mind, changed it and is back to square one. Sources close to James told The Athletic those suggestions were 'a lie.' Others have floated roster moves James might be holding out for, which Paul has said is not true," the longtime LeBron James reporter wrote.

Recently, Kendrick Perkins raised eyebrows on ESPN's NBA Today by claiming that LeBron James had already decided on his next team before ultimately backing out.
“This has nothing to do with money,” Perkins said. The teams that are at the top of (LeBron’s) list, they’re all gonna pay the same dollar amount. He’s not asking a team to move anybody that’s contradicting what they’re standing for. It’s not about the money, it’s about the fit. He’s had his mind made up…and then all of a sudden he’s changed his mind and he’s back to the drawing board again.”
Right now, James has yet to finally announce his next destination, with Rich Paul reiterating multiple times that the four-time MVP will continue to take his time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves are known suitors of James' free agency sweepstakes.
