Former Los Angeles Lakers star named most overrated player in NBA

A former Los Angeles Lakers star has been named the NBA's most overrated player.

That player is Washington Wizards forward Anthony Davis, who was one of the best players in the league at one point, but has been hampered by injury issues as of late.

Anthony Davis named NBA's most overrated player

Davis, 33, was recently given the distinction of being the league's most overrated player by Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, who pointed to Davis' inconsistent availability and declining production as reasons why he topped the list.

"If guaranteed a clean bill of health, would Anthony Davis be the most impactful player on this list? Maybe. But that's a moot point when he can be guaranteed nothing of the sort," Buckley wrote.

". . . Things that used to be automatic with AD are, at best, major question marks. He'll have flashes of his old dominant days and they might get covered similarly since he's such a notable name, but when his employer is merely hoping to get 50 games from him at this point (a number he missed in three of the past six seasons), things have clearly changed."

Davis will have an opportunity to prove Buckley, and other doubters, wrong this upcoming season, which will be his first full season as a member of the Washington Wizards.
