Arsenal fans finally received the news they had been waiting for

After a sluggish start to the summer window, Arsenal are beginning to show their hand in the transfer market.
Mikel Arteta made it clear at the end of last season that significant reinforcements would be needed to build on a campaign that delivered a long-awaited Premier League title and a run to the Champions League final.
Yet, Andrea Berta, the Gunners’ sporting director, has so far struggled to carry out that ambition. Despite reportedly having access to a transfer budget that could exceed £250million, Arsenal's business has been modest. Piero Hincapie became the club's first permanent signing of the window last month, followed by the addition of back-up goalkeeper Illan Meslier, leaving key positions - the defence, central midfield and left-wing - still unaddressed.

The failure to land Jeremy Monga and Morgan Rogers - two names heavily linked with the Gunners in recent months - has only added to unease among the fanbase, with the pair instead opting for Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
Regarding outgoings, Berta still hasn't found destinations for multiple players who are no longer needed at the Emirates Stadium. But football.london now examines two encouraging transfer developments concerning the north Londoners.
£94m World Cup star
Arsenal are exploring Yan Diomande as an alternative to Rogers after failing to land the England international. The Gunners' need for a world-class left-wing addition remains at the forefront of their priorities, with a potential swoop for RB Leipzig ace Diomande now under consideration.
football.london understands that Arsenal have lodged an enquiry for the 19-year-old sensation, who caught the eye at the World Cup with a string of dazzling performances for the Ivory Coast. Sources indicated that the English champions have expressed their desire to be kept abreast of the situation surrounding the Ivorian.
Arsenal had valued Rogers at around £80m but fell short of Aston Villa's asking price for the midfielder, ultimately missing out on his signature to Chelsea, who completed the deal for £117m. Diomande is anticipated to command a fee of around £94m this summer, with Liverpool already having seen an £85m offer for the player turned down.
Diomande is said to favour a move to PSG, though the European champions are yet to match Leipzig's valuation. Arsenal's enquiry is understood to have been purely exploratory at this stage, with the club yet to progress further in their pursuit during the current transfer window.
Tzolis opens up on transfer
Arsenal have confirmed the arrival of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. The 24-year-old Greece international has signed a five-year contract following his £34m switch to north London.
Tzolis came up against Arsenal during their Champions League league phase encounter with Brugge last season. While he failed to find the net on that occasion, the winger registered a stellar 51 goal contributions in 52 outings for the Belgian side throughout the campaign.
He will take the No. 17 shirt and is viewed as a long-term successor to Leandro Trossard, who departed for Besiktas last week. "It's absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England. I'm very proud to be part of this team for the next season," the winger said at his unveiling.
"When my agent was saying maybe it was a possibility, I was already excited. Afterwards it was getting more serious and now I'm here. I had a nice conversation [with Mikel Arteta]. It was around an hour. We talked about everything, about the club, about myself, about his plans, about me of course, about the team. It was only positive things."
