Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has indicated the Reds need more additions heading into the new season and we're starting to see some movement. Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz have already arrived, with the former agreeing his move during Arne Slot's tenure, while there's more to come.

"You have to always be open to new options to improve the squad," Iraola said, adding that it was tough to put an exact number on how many additions are needed. "There are obvious situations that we know where we need to sign players.

"A winger, for example - we definitely need to sign a winger. But there are other situations that we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what's the cost, how we also see the players we have."

A successor to Mohamed Salah is an obvious area of interest, with Maghnes Akliouche linked, while other areas are also attracting attention. Here are our latest lines from around Anfield.

Akliouche 'learning English'

French international Maghnes Akliouche has been learning English as he weighs up his transfer options, according to PA. The Monaco star has been linked with a Liverpool switch, though Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be keen to keep him in Ligue 1.

According to the ECHO, Liverpool initiated contact with Monaco early in the transfer window. However, there is not believed to have been any new movement despite reports to the contrary elsewhere.

Akliouche, 24, has one international goal for France. He only played once at the World Cup, coming on against Iraq in the group stage, as he failed to force his way into a front line which included Liverpool-linked Bradley Barcola.

Young centre-back Amara Nallo is on his way to HJK Helsinki on loan. The Finnish season runs from April until October, meaning he is expected to return to Anfield before the January transfer window opens.

The defender, who joined the Reds' academy from West Ham in 2023, was sent off on his debut in a Champions League meeting with PSV Eindhoven. He picked up a second red card in a Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace last season and also played the final 15 minutes against Qarabag in a European victory last term.

HJK finished fifth in the league last season but made it into the Conference League qualifying rounds after winning the domestic cup. The Helsinki side have former Premier League striker Teemu Pukki leading the line after the veteran returned to Europe following a spell in Major League Soccer.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have also confirmed that goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has left the club on a temporary basis, too. The Hungarian star joined the Reds a year ago but has now departed on loan to TSV Hartberg of the Austrian Bundesliga.
