Only 15 players in Liverpool’s Premier League history have started every game in a single season or more, underlining the monumental nature of the feat.
Since the Premier League‘s inception in 1992, the club have had just 15 players selected to start every league game in a single campaign.
Only three on the list have managed the feat in three or more seasons, with Virgil van Dijk adding his name to an esteemed list after the latest campaign.
It speaks to the ridiculous consistency required that there are only 15 players on the list, which accounts only for starts, not appearances in every game.
Here are the 15 Reds who have managed the feat – some even more than once!
Robbie Fowler

Remarkably, Fowler’s record came in a 42-game season, and he missed just 49 minutes of action across the whole campaign.
He scored 25 goals and notched eight assists. Mightily impressive!
David James

It was three successive seasons playing every minute of every Premier League game for James, the first of which was a 42-game campaign before the change to 38 came into effect from 1995/96.
Steve McManaman

Stig Inge Bjornebye
Stig Inge Bjornebye was another familiar face in 1996/97. It was the defender’s most prolific campaign in a Reds shirt when it came to total appearances, having started 52 games in all competitions!
Sami Hyypia

The first time was in 2019/20 when the trophy was lifted, and again in 2025/26 to underline his incredible longevity. Meanwhile, his first full season saw him miss merely 35 minutes of action!

Finally, the most recent name added to the list is Mo Salah. The winger started every game as he helped lead the team to the club’s 20th league title, scoring 29 times and assisting a further 18.
