Liverpool appear to be all in for Bradley Barcola after withdrawing from the race to sign Yan Diomande, with Fabrizio Romano bullish about the Reds’ chances of signing the PSG superstar.
His 13 goals and 7 assists last season is impressive, considering he mostly played second fiddle to Kvicha Kvaratskhelia on the left wing, but he’s pushing to leave in order to play more often.
PSG and Barcola’s agents are no longer in talks over a new contract given that the back-to-back European champions are unable to make assurances over game time, opening the door for an exit from the French capital.
Liverpool are, by all accounts, favourites to land his signing this summer, but the big issue at hand is PSG’s reported €150m (£127m) asking price, although it would be unsurprising to see sporting director Richard Hughes work that price down a touch.
Despite the transfer window ticking away, Fabrizio Romano has regularly assured Liverpool fans that the club is hard at work on making this marquee signing a reality.
Fabrizio Romano assures fans of Liverpool’s desire to sign Bradley Barcola despite massive asking price
Reporting live on X Space on Thursday, the Italian journalist once again affirmed Liverpool’s desire to bring Barcola to Merseyside this summer, where he would be supported in attack by Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.
Romano said: “On Barcola, there is still a possibility for him to leave Paris Saint-Germain. I’m told this whole summer that he is not untouchable.
“Many of you ask me about Arsenal, I stand by my information – they are not at the moment advancing for Barcola.
“Not Arsenal… Liverpool are pushing for Barcola. Liverpool remain interested in the player and he is high on the list.”

He added on his YouTube channel that reports of Barcelona interest can be ignored: “Someone linked Jorge Mendes with Bradley Barcola as a possibility for Barcelona. My understanding is that Barcola is not involved in anything regarding Jorge Mendes. Mendes is not the agent of Barcola, he is with another agency circle. Let me repeat, today, yesterday, last month… Barcola is the top, top target of Liverpool.
“I know many of you doubt my information because it’s not everywhere, I don’t know if [the transfer] is going to be possible financially. What I can tell you is Liverpool remain super keen on the player.”
“Barcelona are not involved in this story.”
To further prove Romano’s belief that Liverpool are hard at work on this transfer, he replied to a comment from a fan on X who was claiming that Romano had no reliable info.
He said: “I told you Slot out when people said he was staying. I told you Munoz done when there were zero links. I’m telling you to wait because Barcola is a real target, then it’s not me paying or reaching agreements. But they want him.”
