Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has signalled that securing a winger ranks highly amongst the club's transfer priorities, though that may not be the extent of their summer dealings. Mohamed Salah's departure has left the Reds urgently seeking reinforcements, and the new head coach was refreshingly candid on the subject.
"A winger, for example - we definitely need to sign a winger," Iraola said. "But there are other situations that we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what's the cost, how we also see the players we have."
One wide player has already been brought in, with Victor Munoz poised to join up with his new Liverpool team-mates following a post-World Cup break. Jeremy Jacquet has also already completed his move and features in the Reds' pre-season touring party.
That pre-season schedule gets under way on Saturday with a fixture against Sunderland, while transfer activity continues to simmer in the background. Here's the very latest, from the Liverpool Echo.
Two more deals
Liverpool are moving on two further players, highly-regarded centre-back Amara Nallo and reserve goalkeeper Armin Pecsi. Nallo is set to head to HJK Helsinki on a temporary basis, while Pecsi has finalised a season-long switch to TSV Hartberg in the Austrian Bundesliga.
With Finland's league campaign running from April through to October, Nallo is expected to return to Anfield ahead of the January transfer window.
The youngster has made three senior appearances for Liverpool, though was shown a red card in two of those outings.

Pecsi, 21, joined Liverpool last year from Puskas Akademia in his native country. Having featured as an unused substitute in several Premier League fixtures last season, he will be hoping to secure some first-team action in Austria.
Akliouche hint
France international Maghnes Akliouche has reportedly been brushing up on his English, according to PA, a development that has generated considerable excitement amongst Liverpool supporters.
The Monaco star, who is capable of operating on either wing or in an attacking midfield role, has been linked with a move to both the Reds and PSG during the current transfer window.

The ECHO understands that Liverpool made preliminary contact with Monaco in the early stages of the transfer window.
However, reports indicating that further discussions have taken place more recently are believed to be wide of the mark.
Akliouche, 24, has found the net once at international level for France. He featured in Les Bleus' World Cup squad alongside Liverpool-linked Bradley Barcola, though he managed just a single group stage appearance throughout the tournament.
