Raoul Bellanova
Atalanta’s Raoul Bellanova has been linked with a move to Everton but a move to Nottingham Forest could be taking shape.
The right-back had a frustrating 2025/26 campaign for the Bergamo club. Amidst injury problems, he played only 24 times in Serie A and this was a big change from an impressive 2024/25 season, when he managed ten assists.
Clearly, his prominence at Atalanta has reduced. Sport Witness have covered how they are interested in a sale, amidst a growing belief that he hasn’t developed according to plan.
Bellanova has suitors in Italy, Everton have been linked, but a move to Nottingham Forest is now being pushed.
Exit taking shape
Today’s Corriere Bergamo reports sales are a priority at La Dea right now. They want to earn from exits before making signings, with Bellanova a major candidate to leave, alongside Charles de Ketelaere.
Atalanta want to create an auction for the full-back, as they aim to earn as much as possible. Sporting director Cristiano Guintoli has made public statements that he will stay at the club. Privately, the player is up for sale.
Fiorentina are in the race and Everton are ‘certainly interested’ in the Italian. The report notes that Atalanta see Nottingham Forest’s Nicolo Savona as a replacement and this can lead to a swap.
It wouldn’t be a straight swap, but two separate deals which could work for both clubs financially.
The Midlands club have made initial enquiries for Bellanova. This puts them a step ahead of the other suitors, for now.
Our take: Forest would get tried and tested player
While Savona put in good performances in the first half of last season, his injury problems have escalated. They held him back at Juventus and the knee issue last season was the second major one of his career. It ruled him out for months and it remains to be seen how he holds up next season.
Bellanova is much more experienced and proven at the highest level. He played in the Champions League for Atalanta and even for Inter Milan, and his ability to cover ground could make him an upgrade on Savona.
While not always consistent, the 26-year-old’s versatility will make him a reliable squad player for Nottingham Forest.
