Arsenal have made contact for Real Sociedad’s Jon Martín but are unlikely to secure his services this summer.
The Gunners have raided the La Liga side to sign Mikel Merino and Martín Zubimendi in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Arsenal are again looking at the Spanish club, this time for the centre-back.

Jon Martín came up through the ranks of La Real’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2024.
He’s made 50 appearances so far and 32 were last season. That was enough for him to convince Arsenal and other clubs.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states the 20-year-old has been ‘tempted by Arsenal’.
In fact, the Premier League winners and Real Madrid have asked about him, and Barcelona are keen.
Summer exit unlikely
In recent weeks, there were claims of a possible battle between the La Liga giants and the north London club.
This saw Real Sociedad take action to secure his future, and on Thursday, Jon Martín signed a new contract until 2032. The newspaper states this includes a €60m release clause.
The defender didn’t entertain ‘tempting offers from the Premier League’ in order to continue at La Real. He has decided to stay put and committed his long-term future to the club.

Jon Martín’s clause is attainable for the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid.
However, his desire to continue at Real Sociedad next season would almost rule out a summer exit.
The Spain international can enjoy regular game time with his club next season. That wouldn’t have been the case at Arsenal, Real Madrid or Barcelona.
William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Piero Hincapié and Cristhian Mosquera are the four centre-backs at the Emirates.
The France international has been struggling with a back problem. Arsenal have confirmed that he won’t undergo surgery but will be “out of action for an extended period.” Whether this will force Mikel Arteta’s side to sign a new centre-back is unclear.
