Bruno Guimaraes## Bruno Guimaraes' agent has broken his silence as talk of a move to Arsenal continues and Newcastle maintain their stubborn position
09:30, 24 Jul 2026
Bruno Guimaraes’ agent has left a cryptic message on his social media feeds as Arsenal’s chase for the Brazilian international ramps up.
Intermediaries have been heavily involved in the talks with Newcastle, adamant that as of Wednesday lunchtime, they had still not received any ‘direct contact’ from Arsenal. football.london understood an early £45million verbal offer had been floated and immediately dismissed.
Since then, unofficial talks have been ongoing, and the player has made the Magpies aware of his desire to leave and that Arsenal are his preferred destination. It is complicated, with the player unwilling to push and reportedly keen not to follow the same path as former teammate Alexander Isak, who went on strike to get his move.

Newcastle are understood to be frustrated by the process and lack of direct contact from Arsenal. That said, an official bid of £70million is thought to kickstart official discussions despite an expectation this will be rejected.
Guimaraes' agent, Alexis Malavolta, took to social media on Thursday and left an intriguing post. The post was published on his Instagram story, between 8pm and 9pm UK time, and clearly taken by someone else.
The post pictured Malavolta on the front of a boat, standing looking out into a bright blue sea in an indeterminable location. His right arm held to his head, perhaps holding a phone, which would make sense as the only caption on the image read: “Always working…”
It was only a couple of hours earlier that reports of the £70million offer for Guimaraes had begun to break. Whether the post was about Guimaraes is impossible to determine, but the timing is no doubt interesting.
