Liverpool have chance for transfer revenge–Star’s entourage contacts Reds

Vinícius Jr

Liverpool are once again being linked with Vinícius Jr

Liverpool have an opportunity to sign Vinícius Júnior as his future at Real Madrid remains uncertain.

The forward has starred for the La Liga giants, managing 128 goals and 100 assists from 378 matches. This includes 22 goals and 14 assists from last season.

His contract situation could allow Liverpool or another club to either sign him this summer or in 2027.

Liverpool express interest in Real Madrid star

That’s according to journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon, who covers the Brazil international on his YouTube channel, relayed by Defensa Central.

The 26-year-old’s contract expires in 2027. The outlet initially shares their own update that Real Madrid are having difficulties securing an extension.

Álvarez de Mon claims Los Blancos want him to continue and Vinícius Júnior is also open to a longer stay. However, the Spanish giants haven’t met his demands.

“Real Madrid are keen on renewing Vinícius’ contract, and he is also keen on staying at Real Madrid,” he said.

“These are the official positions, but as of now, I’m not aware that the differences between the two sides have been resolved.

“As long as Vinicius’s side doesn’t see Real Madrid making a stronger offer, that is, as long as there isn’t a genuine move toward Vinícius’ position, they don’t see the need to meet either.”

Entourage contact Liverpool

Ramón Álvarez de Mon claims this has seen his camp contact a few top clubs, including Liverpool.

The cost of the operation means Andoni Iraola’s side would rather sign him for free in 2027. This would also be a chance for transfer revenge after Real Madrid took Trent Alexander-Arnold for a low fee and Ibrahima Konaté as a free agent.

“Vinícius’ representatives, of course, have to do their job,” Álvarez de Mon explained.

“To find out what the position would be of other clubs that might be interested in signing him, whether in 2026 or 2027. Primarily, we’re talking about Premier League teams.

“During those preliminary discussions, there was one club that clearly responded positively. That club is Liverpool. But the numbers only made sense looking ahead to 2027.”

“If he becomes a free agent in 2027, not only will the Premier League be paying attention, but I imagine Bayern and PSG will be too.”

For now, it’s unlikely for Vinícius Júnior to sign an extension anytime soon.

He added: “I’m increasingly getting the impression that a renewal this summer is unlikely to happen. Of course, how comfortable or uncomfortable Vinícius feels with Mourinho, how the Brazilian performs, how the team functions… could be very important.”

The player standing firm with his request to sign an extension is a problem for Real Madrid.

Earlier this year, there were claims of Chelsea interest. It looks like his camp may use the Premier League sides [now Liverpool] to put pressure on Real Madrid to meet their demand for the renewal.
