A stagnant transfer window and a glaring void at right-back have tensions rising at Everton. With the season fast approaching, the board faces a race against time.
With just one player coming through the door at Everton who wasn't here last season, understandably, supporters are frustrated.
It's not only the right-back situation than needs solving. Everton need reinforcements in multiple areas, and after what seemed like a proactive start to the window, things have slowed down drastically.
It's now been 18 days since Tyrique George signed for the club, and he was at Everton last season. It's been 22 days since Hayden Hackney arrived, so there's no doubt everything has come to a halt.

Everton need signings through the door, and there is now under a month until the Premier League returns.
The summer transfer window doesn't close until the beginning of September. There is time for Everton to get plenty of deals over the line.
That being said, it will be disappointing for Everton to throw points away.
There's no doubt Everton are working in the background to try to get deals over the line. They know we are in need of players just as much as the supporters, and it's their jobs on the line if they get things wrong.
As it stands today, on the 24th July, I'm not worried. Should I be? Maybe. Some are worried, some are disappointed, and some are angry at the lack of business.
Personally, I don't think we should be judging Everton right now and slamming the board. That doesn't mean we should reserve judgement until the end of the window, though.
As we approach August, things have to start moving. If we get to August and we don't appear to be getting closer to a right-back signing, that's when I'll be starting to judge.
It's not just about the summer transfer window. Everton have had plenty of time to get targets lined up ahead of the summer. The window didn't open and suddenly Everton realised they need a right-back.
Everton should have a right-back through the door well in time for the Crystal Palace game. I have no doubt that we will have one by the end of the window, but we've had enough time to prepare where it's unacceptable if one hasn't arrived for the first game of the new season.
If a right-back arrives on the 1st September, they've already missed the whole of pre-season with Everton and two Premier League games.
We know how David Moyes is with players. That will mean he needs more time to get up to speed, and before you know it, they haven't made a start until a month after the season has begun.
The great thing about the Hackney deal was he won't miss a minute of pre-season. When the Premier League returns, he'll be as ready as the rest of the players.
Of course, any new signing will be training with their current team, but there's a chance if a deal gets closer, they'll start missing training sessions and potentially have to start moving their families to a new country. It's just not ideal.
I'm not judging the Everton hierarchy right this second, but when the calendar switches to August, they won't be getting too much leeway from me.
