Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation around Maghnes Akliouche after reports emerged that Liverpool made an enquiry.
Sky Sports reported on Wednesday that the Reds have made an initial approach to Monaco to check on the 24‑year‑old’s availability, effectively lodging an enquiry rather than a formal bid at this stage.

The France international is already a prime target for Paris Saint‑Germain, who have seen three separate offers rejected, the latest believed to be around £34m (€40m).
He made 31 Ligue 1 appearances last season, recording six goals and six assists, and can operate both as a right winger and as a No.10,
French outlet Le Parisien report that Monaco are seeking around €50m, not only reflecting his development but also the need to move on some high earners to balance their wage bill. PSG, for their part, are said to have reached an agreement with the player on personal terms, leaving only a club‑to‑club compromise to be found.
Now Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on the notion of a Liverpool hijack or that they are even seriously pursuing Akliouche:
“I maintain my information on Maghnes Akliouche. Many talking about a potential Liverpool hijack. As I told you, if I have some information on Liverpool trying or hijacking, I will let you know,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“But at the moment my information remains that PSG have an agreement with the boy, that the player wants to go to PSG, and that PSG are in negotiations with Monaco. Club-to-club it’s not done yet.”
“Until it’s done, as we saw with Morgan Rogers [to Chelsea], we have to be careful.”
“The situation between Akliouche and PSG is still really, really concrete.”
For now, Liverpool’s enquiry keeps them in the conversation and ensures they’re placed should PSG’s negotiations stall or Monaco invite fresh bids closer to their €50m valuation.
But unless that landscape shifts, Romano’s stance is that Akliouche’s future still points towards Paris, while Liverpool focus their main efforts on Bradley Barcola
