Former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is set to sign for Al-Diriyah after leaving the Toffees, according to Foot Mercato. The Blues hero made 25 appearances for the Hill Dickinson Stadium club last term and was a key player for Everton manager David Moyes. The Merseyside club previously confirmed that discussions were taking place regarding a possible extension for Gueye. However, that is no longer the case and he is now set to join the billionaire-owned club.
The Everton hero will join Al-Diriyah on a one-year contract with an option for a further year. The move is expected to be completed soon, and the Senegalese will look forward to hit the ground running in the Saudi Pro League. Gueye first joined the Blues from Aston Villa in 2016, spending three seasons before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain. He returned to Everton after three seasons in France and was an influential player in the four seasons he spent with the Toffees.
